Pittsford Village Farm strengthens the vitality of our community by connecting people with social, cultural and educational opportunities that help build a stronger community for all.
Community Center and Gathering Place:
Our goal is to create a multipurpose venue for social gatherings, community events, cultural and recreational activities for people of all ages.
Early Childhood Daycare:
We feel that quality early childcare is key to a healthy community. At present, 70% of working Vermont families express the need for childcare services. We propose to establish high quality cooperative daycare facility at the Village Farm that fosters the needs of a growing and vibrant community.
We encourage the growing of fresh and nutritious food locally. The Village Farm provides garden space to community members of all ages to grow healthy nutritious food and bring people together to enjoy and share time in the garden.
Farm to School:
We support Farm to School Programs that enrich the connection families have with fresh, healthy, locally grown food. Students can participate in education activities related to agriculture, food, health and nutrition and engage in hands-on learning through gardening.
We believe a community kitchen is a place where neighbors of all ages and backgrounds come together to make and share meals, learn from each other about cooking and preserving the garden harvest, prepare food for social gatherings, and provide space for small food producers to grow and thrive.
